Volunteer Position Job Description
Job Title: Scholarship Program Coordinator (SPC) – based in Saskatoon
Purpose: The Scholarship Program Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of The Princess Shop’s Scholarship Program and is responsible for the effectiveness, organization, growth and sustainability of the SP during her term.
Vision: The Scholarship Program Coordinator will develop, facilitate, and expand The Princess Shop’s Scholarship Program, including the creative enhancement of the program. The 2011 graduation season will mark the third year for the Scholarship Program, and the SPC will have the opportunity and responsibility to expand the SP, developing the program into a sustainable component of The Princess Shop’s overall services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Executive Director to plan for and execute the Scholarship Program
- Work with scholarship sponsors to establish criteria and application format
- Promote scholarships with Princess Graduates (past and present)
- Accept scholarship applications from Princess Graduates
- Work with scholarship sponsors to select recipients of scholarships
- Prepare to award all scholarships at Perfectly Pink Appreciation BBQ each June
- Prepare correspondence and media releases as needed
- Continually engage in efforts to creatively grow and enhance the program, generating new ideas to support the Scholarship Program initiative that will then be discussed with the Executive Director
- Complete other duties as assigned
Reports to: Executive Director of The Princess Shop.
Position Term: The SPC will be hired immediately, to serve until December 31, 2011. In October, the SPC can be reappointed for another year at the discretion of the Executive Director.
Commitment and Expectations:
- Make minimum time commitment of 5 hours per week
- Coordinate with Executive Director to ensure the sustainability of the SP
- Include Executive Director on all email correspondence relating to the SP to maintain open lines of communication
- Maintain and submit weekly summary report to the Executive Director every Sunday
- Prepare verbal report (based on weekly summary report) to the Executive Director once per week at the General Meeting on Mondays
- Prepare monthly update (based on weekly summary reports) to be shared with the rest of The Princess Shop staff and board of directors in the Monthly Updates, organized by the Executive Director
- Maintain and submit timesheet to the Executive Director on the last day of the month

Support: Training and direction for this position will be provided. In addition, the Executive Director will be available for questions and assistance.
